If you want to update your master password - whether for better security or simply because you feel it is time for a change - LockYit makes it straightforward. Here is how to do it.

Before You Start

Make sure your device is connected to the internet. LockYit needs to be online to process a password change.

Steps to Change Your Master Password

Open LockYit and go to Settings.

Navigate to the Account section.

Tap or click Change Password.

Enter your current master password.

Enter your new master password.

Confirm your new master password.

Tap or click Change.

That is it. Your vault data does not need to be re-encrypted - LockYit handles the password change securely in the background without touching your stored data.

Choosing a Good New Password

Your new master password should be:

At least 16 characters long

A mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols

Not guessable - avoid names, birthdays, or common words

Different from your previous password

A passphrase like
blue-river-kettle-42!
is both strong and easy to remember.

After Changing Your Password

Download a fresh Recovery Kit. Your existing recovery kit may no longer work as expected after a password change, so it is important to generate a new one and store it somewhere safe.

To download your Recovery Kit:

Go to Settings → Account.

Tap or click on Recovery Key.

Tap or click on the Generate New option.

Save displayed code, or print the PDF and store it in a secure physical location.

Confirm that you have saved the code or key, and then proceed to tap or click on Save Recovery Key in Account.

Discard any old recovery kit files to avoid confusion.

For full details, see the Recovery Kit documentation and the Change Password documentation.

Keeping your master password up to date is a simple but effective way to stay on top of your account security. If you run into any issues during the process, the troubleshooting guide has you covered.

LockYit is designed so that only you can access your data. That means there is one password you absolutely cannot afford to forget: your master password.

LockYit is designed so that only you can access your data. That means there is one password you absolutely cannot afford to forget: your master password.

The One Password That Matters

Unlike most apps, LockYit does not store your master password anywhere - not on your device, and not on our servers. It is the key that unlocks your entire vault. If you forget it, no one can recover it for you, not even the LockYit team.

That is not a flaw - it is the point. Zero-knowledge encryption means your data stays private. But it also means the responsibility of remembering your master password rests entirely with you.

Choose a Password That Is Hard to Guess

Your master password should be something only you would know - and something a stranger could never guess.

A strong master password:

Is long - at least 16 characters

Is not based on personal details - avoid names, birthdays, or common words

Is unique - not used anywhere else

Is memorable to you - a passphrase like
winter-lamp-forest-88!
is both strong and easier to remember than a random string of characters

Write it down and keep it somewhere physically secure - such as a sealed envelope in a safe place - until you are confident you have it memorised.

Download Your Recovery Kit

If you ever lose access to your master password, your Recovery Kit is your only way back in. It contains your encrypted recovery key, which can be used to restore access to your account.

If you have not downloaded it yet, do it now - before you need it.

To download your Recovery Kit:

Open LockYit and go to Settings.

Navigate to the Account section.

Tap or click on Recovery Key.

Tap or click on Generate New.

Save displayed code, or print the PDF and store it somewhere safe - a physical location you control.

Confirm that you have saved the code or key, and then proceed to tap or click on Save Recovery Key in Account.

Discard any old recovery kit files to avoid confusion.

A few important reminders:

Do not store it on an unlocked device or in an easily accessible cloud folder.

Consider keeping a copy in a separate location from your home.

Treat it like an important legal document, because it is.

For full details, see the Recovery Kit documentation.

Your master password and your Recovery Kit work together as your safety net. Take a moment today to make sure both are in order - it is far easier to prepare now than to recover later.

LockYit is designed to be accessible to as many people as possible - and that includes letting you use it in the language you are most comfortable with. Whether you speak Hindi, Tamil, French, or any of our other supported languages, the entire app interface is available in your language.

17 Languages and Counting

LockYit currently supports 17 languages. Here is the full list:

Indian Languages

Hindi

Marathi

Gujarati

Tamil

Telugu

Kannada

Malayalam

Bengali

Punjabi

Urdu

Odia

Nepali

International Languages

English

French

German

Spanish

Italian

Every screen, setting, and menu in LockYit is fully translated in each of these languages. We plan to add more languages over time.

It Starts in Your System Language

When you first install LockYit, the app automatically picks up the language set on your device. If your phone or computer is set to Hindi, LockYit will open in Hindi. If it is set to French, you will see French right away.

You do not need to configure anything for this to work - it happens automatically. If your system language is not one of the 17 we support, LockYit will default to English.

How to Change the Language

If you want to use LockYit in a different language than your system default, you can change it at any time:

Open Settings

Go to Localization

Tap Language

Select your preferred language from the list

The app interface will update immediately. There is no need to restart or log out.

While you are in the Localization settings, you will also find options to customise your date format, time zone, and currency. These settings ensure that dates on your vault items, timestamps, and financial entries all match your regional preferences.

For the full list of localization options, see the Localization Settings documentation.

We believe that a security tool should feel natural to use - and that starts with being able to read it in your own language.

Most of us juggle dozens of accounts, cards, documents, and lists every day - scattered across apps, sticky notes, screenshots, and browser tabs. LockYit brings all of that into one secure, organised place. Here is how you can use it to take control of your digital life.

Everyday Use Cases

Passwords and Logins

This is the most obvious one. Every online account you have - email, social media, banking, shopping - has a login. Instead of reusing the same password or relying on your browser to remember them, store all your credentials in LockYit. Each entry can hold the URL, username, password, and any notes you need, and you can use the browser extension on desktop to auto-fill them instantly.

To-Do Lists

Need to track tasks for the day, a grocery list, or a list of things to pack for a trip? LockYit has a built-in to-do list item type that lets you create and manage simple checklists right inside your vault. It is always available, even offline, and encrypted like everything else.

Secure Notes

Some things do not fit neatly into a form - a private journal entry, a recovery phrase for a crypto wallet, instructions for a family member, or a draft of something sensitive. Secure notes give you a large encrypted text area to write whatever you need without worrying about who might see it.

Financial Records

Credit cards, debit cards, bank account numbers, routing numbers, UPI IDs, insurance policy numbers - financial information is some of the most sensitive data you carry around digitally. LockYit lets you store all of it with dedicated item types that automatically mask sensitive fields like card numbers and CVVs until you choose to reveal them.

Identity Documents

Passport numbers, driver's licence details, national ID numbers, tax identification numbers - these are details you rarely need but cannot afford to lose or expose. Store them in LockYit so they are available when you need them at an airport, a government office, or while filling out a form, without keeping photos of your documents in an unencrypted gallery.

Developer and Technical Secrets

If you work in tech, you likely have API keys, SSH keys, database credentials, server access details, and configuration snippets that need to be kept safe. LockYit supports storing all of these with dedicated item types, keeping your professional secrets as secure as your personal ones.

Addresses and Contact Details

Store your home address, office address, or frequently used shipping addresses. On desktop, the browser extension can auto-fill these into forms, saving you time and reducing the chance of typos.

Medical and Emergency Information

Health insurance details, blood type, allergies, emergency contacts, prescriptions - having this information readily available in a secure vault can be invaluable in an emergency.

43 Item Types to Keep Things Organised

LockYit does not dump everything into one big list. It offers 43 built-in item types - from credit cards to secure notes to Wi-Fi passwords - so every piece of information has a structured home. When you search for something, you can filter by item type to find it instantly.

For the full list of item types, see the Item Types documentation.

Your Data Stays on Your Device

All of this information - your passwords, notes, financial records, identities, and lists - is stored only on your device. It is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your master password before it is even written to storage. There is no cloud database holding your vault, no background sync uploading your data, and no server-side copy.

This means no cloud breach can expose your information, no internet connection is required to access it, and no one - including the LockYit team - can see what you have stored. Your digital life remains entirely in your hands.

If your important information is currently spread across a dozen apps, browser password prompts, and screenshots in your gallery, LockYit can bring it all together in one secure place. Start by adding the items you reach for most often, and build from there.

When we say LockYit uses "AES-256-GCM encryption", that can sound intimidating. But the idea behind it is surprisingly simple. Let's break it down in plain language - no computer science degree required.

Think of It Like a Lock and Key

Imagine you have a safe with an incredibly complex lock. You put your valuables inside, turn the key, and now nobody can open it without that exact key. That is essentially what encryption does with your digital data.

When you create a vault item in LockYit - say, a password or a credit card number - the app scrambles that information into something completely unreadable before saving it. The only way to unscramble it is with the right key. That key is derived from your master password, which only you know.

What Does "AES-256" Mean?

AES stands for Advanced Encryption Standard. It is the encryption method used by banks, governments, and militaries around the world to protect classified information. It is not something we invented - it is an internationally recognised standard that has been tested and trusted for over two decades.

The 256 refers to the size of the key used to lock your data. A 256-bit key means there are 2^256 possible combinations - a number so large that every computer on earth working together could not guess it before the end of the universe. In practical terms, it is unbreakable with current technology.

What Does "GCM" Add?

GCM stands for Galois/Counter Mode. In simple terms, it adds a layer of tamper detection on top of the encryption.

Regular encryption scrambles your data so nobody can read it. GCM goes a step further - it also checks whether anyone has tried to modify the encrypted data. If someone were to alter even a single character of your encrypted vault file, GCM would detect it and refuse to decrypt. This means your data is not only private, but also verified to be exactly what you saved.

Think of it like a sealed envelope. The encryption hides the letter inside. GCM is the wax seal on the back - if the seal is broken, you know someone tampered with it.

How Does This Work in LockYit?

When you unlock LockYit with your master password, here is what happens behind the scenes:

Your master password is used to generate a unique encryption key. This key never leaves your device and is never sent anywhere.

Every item in your vault is encrypted individually using this key with AES-256-GCM.

When you view an item, LockYit decrypts it on the spot using the same key. The decrypted data exists only in memory while you are looking at it.

If anything has been tampered with, the decryption fails entirely rather than showing you corrupted data.

Because all of this happens locally on your device, your unencrypted data is never exposed to the internet, to our servers, or to anyone else.

Why Should You Care?

You do not need to understand the mathematics behind AES-256-GCM to benefit from it. What matters is this:

Your data is locked with the strongest widely-used encryption standard in the world.

Only your master password can unlock it - not us, not a hacker, not anyone.

If someone tampers with your data, the app will know and will not show you compromised information.

It all happens on your device - your private information never travels to a server where it could be intercepted.

When you use LockYit, AES-256-GCM is working quietly in the background every time you save, view, or edit an item. You do not need to configure anything or make any choices - the strongest available protection is always on by default.

LockYit is designed from the ground up as an offline-first password and information manager. Because we don't store your vault in the cloud, keeping your data synchronized across multiple devices requires a slightly different approach.

Regular Local Backups

To keep your data in sync across devices, you should regularly take local backups from your LockYit app and export the latest backed up file to a location that can be accessed on all your devices. This exported file can then be used to restore your vault on your other devices, bringing your data completely into sync.

For step-by-step instructions, see our guides on how to create a backup and how to restore a backup.

Best Practices for Multiple Devices

As a best practice, we recommend having LockYit installed on at least 2 devices. You should designate one of your LockYit devices as the main device (where you primarily add or update entries), and treat the others as secondary devices. This helps maintain a clear source of truth for your data and minimizes the chance of conflicting updates.

By restoring from these regular backups onto your secondary devices, this ensures that you have backed up copies of your vault in running LockYit apps across your devices. Should you ever lose access to your main device, your data is already safely accessible right from another device you own.

The Future of Syncing

Finally, in the future, a paid license will be introduced that will allow you to seamlessly sync your data across devices on your local network-without using cloud servers or needing an internet connection. This upcoming feature will automate local syncing while maintaining our strict offline-first security philosophy.

LockYit describes itself as an offline-first secure information manager. But what does that actually mean in practice? Where does your data live, and what goes to the cloud? Let's break it down clearly.

Your Vault Data Stays on Your Device

Everything you create inside LockYit - your passwords, secure notes, credit cards, identities, API keys, and all other vault items - is stored only on the device you are using. It is never uploaded to any server, and it never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or back it up yourself.

Your vault data is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption before it is even written to storage. The encryption key is derived from your master password, which only you know. This means that even if someone gained physical access to your device, they would not be able to read your data without your master password.

There is no background cloud sync, no cloud database, and no server-side copy of your vault. When you are offline, LockYit works exactly the same as when you are connected to the internet - because your data never depended on the internet to begin with.

What Is Stored in the Cloud?

Your LockYit account - the account you use to sign in - is managed on our servers. This includes your email address, cryptographically secure authentication credentials, two-factor authentication settings, and your encrypted recovery key.

This account exists to give you essential security management features: changing your master password, enabling or disabling two-factor authentication, and recovering access to your vault if you ever need it. These features require a server to be useful - a recovery key you can only access from a single device is no recovery at all.

Importantly, your vault data is not part of your account. Signing out or deleting your account from a device does not touch your vault. The two are separate by design.

The Benefits of an Offline-First Approach

No cloud breach can expose your data

With mainstream cloud-based password managers, a server-side breach can potentially expose millions of users' data at once. With LockYit, there is no central vault to breach. Your data exists only on your device, in encrypted form.

No internet required

Your vault is always available - on a plane, in a remote area, or during an outage. LockYit never needs to "sync" or "fetch" your data because it is already there.

You are in full control of your data

You decide where your backups go, who has access to your devices, and what happens to your data. No third party is holding your information on your behalf. If you want to move your data, export it. If you want to delete it, it is gone from your device the moment you clear it.

No subscription required to access your own data

Because your data is local, you always have access to it regardless of your plan or account status. Offline data does not disappear if a subscription lapses or a service shuts down.

Smaller attack surface

Every network connection is a potential attack surface. By keeping your vault entirely local, LockYit eliminates the risk of man-in-the-middle attacks, server-side vulnerabilities, and network interception - because your vault data never travels over a network at all.

Privacy by design

We cannot see your data because we never have access to it. There is no telemetry on your vault contents, and no possibility of your data being used for any purpose - because it simply does not exist on our side.

Being offline-first is not a limitation - it is a deliberate security architecture. Your vault is yours, stored on your device, encrypted with a key only you hold. That is what offline means in LockYit.

Your vault holds some of the most important information in your digital life - passwords, financial details, secure notes, and more. Losing access to it without a backup would be a painful experience. Regular backups are a simple habit that can save you from a very stressful situation.

Why Backups Matter

No device is immune to failure. Hard drives fail, phones get lost or stolen, operating system reinstalls happen, and accidental data deletion is always a possibility. If your LockYit vault only exists in one place, any of these events could mean permanent data loss.

A backup gives you a safety net. With a recent backup on hand, recovering your vault is straightforward - without one, your data may be gone for good.

Local Backup and Restore in LockYit

LockYit includes a built-in backup and restore feature that lets you create encrypted snapshots of your vault and save them to your device. These backups are fully encrypted with your master password, so the backup file itself is safe to store on an external drive, a USB stick, or any location you trust.

Creating a backup is simple:

Open Settings and go to the Backups tab.

Tap Create Backup to generate an encrypted backup file.

Save the file to a location outside your primary device - an external drive or a folder you back up separately.

Restoring from a backup is equally straightforward:

Open Settings → Backups.

Tap Restore Backup and select your backup file.

Enter your master password to decrypt and restore your data.

LockYit also keeps a list of your recent local backups so you can manage them directly from the app.

Tip: From the Local Backups screen in Settings, you can download any saved backup to a folder on your device. Once downloaded, move that file to a separate device - such as another computer, a USB drive, or a trusted external storage location. Keeping a copy off your primary device means you can still recover your vault even if that device is lost, damaged, or reset.

For full details, see the Backup and Restore documentation.

Available in the Free Version

Local backup and restore is available to all LockYit users - no paid plan required. We believe that protecting your data against loss is a fundamental feature, not a premium one. Whether you are just getting started or have been using LockYit for years, you have full access to backups right now.

We recommend creating a backup after any significant change to your vault - after adding new items, updating credentials, or reorganising your data.

Coming Soon: Encrypted Cloud Backups

For users who want an extra layer of convenience and redundancy, we are working on encrypted cloud backup storage as part of the upcoming LockYit paid plan.

This will allow you to automatically sync your encrypted vault backups to the cloud - so even if your local device and your external drives are both unavailable, your data is still recoverable. Like all backups in LockYit, cloud backups will remain end-to-end encrypted. Your data will be stored in the cloud in a form that only you can decrypt.

The paid plan is expected to launch in the coming weeks. We will share more details as we get closer to release.

In the meantime, make sure you are taking advantage of local backups today. A few seconds spent creating a backup could save you from losing everything. If you have any questions about the backup process, our documentation has you covered.

LockYit is built to keep your most sensitive information safe - but like any security tool, it's only as strong as the practices you put in place. Here are three essential steps to make sure your LockYit account is properly secured.

LockYit is built to keep your most sensitive information safe - but like any security tool, it's only as strong as the practices you put in place. Here are three essential steps to make sure your LockYit account is properly secured.

1. Use a Strong Master Password

Your master password is the key to everything inside LockYit. It encrypts your entire vault, and without it, no one - not even the LockYit team - can access your data. That makes choosing a strong one critical.

A strong master password should be:

Long - at least 16 characters

Unique - not used anywhere else

Unpredictable - a mix of words, numbers, and symbols, or a long passphrase that only you would know

Avoid using names, birthdays, or common words. A passphrase like
correct-horse-battery-staple-7!
is far better than
Password123
.

Since you won't be typing it into a browser auto-fill, take your time choosing something memorable but not guessable. Write it down and store it somewhere physically secure until you've committed it to memory.

For guidance on setting or updating your master password, see the Master Password documentation.

2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of protection to your LockYit account. Even if someone obtained your master password, they would still need access to your second factor to get in.

To set up 2FA for LockYit:

Open Settings and navigate to the Security tab.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication and scan the QR code with an authenticator app.

Enter the verification code to confirm setup.

Use a dedicated authenticator app - such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator. Authenticator apps are significantly more resistant to SIM-swapping attacks.

For a step-by-step walkthrough, see the Two-Factor Authentication documentation.

3. Generate and Store a Recovery Kit

If you ever lose access to your master password or your 2FA device, your Recovery Kit is what lets you get back in. It contains your encrypted recovery key, which can be used to regain access to your account.

To generate your Recovery Kit:

Go to Settings → Security.

Find the Recovery Kit section and download the PDF.

Store it somewhere safe - a physical location you control, like a safe or a locked drawer.

A few tips for keeping it secure:

Do not store it digitally on an unencrypted device or in an easily accessible cloud folder.

Print it out and treat it like an important legal document.

Consider storing a copy in a separate physical location from your primary residence.

Your Recovery Kit is your last line of defense - make sure it exists before you need it.

For full details, see the Recovery Kit documentation.

Taking these three steps - a strong master password, 2FA with an authenticator app, and a saved Recovery Kit - will give your LockYit vault a solid security foundation. If you have questions or run into any issues, feel free to reach out to us.

When people hear about LockYit, the first question is often: "So, is it just another password manager?"

While LockYit does manage your passwords flawlessly, labeling it simply as a "password manager" only scratches the surface. LockYit is built from the ground up to be a Secure Information Manager or a Digital Vault.

But what exactly is the difference? Let's break down why an information manager is far more versatile and robust than a standard password manager.

1. Focused Beyond Web Credentials

A traditional password manager is highly specialized. It excels at saving URLs, usernames, and passwords, and usually comes with a browser extension to auto-fill these credentials.

A secure information manager like LockYit is designed to encompass all facets of your confidential digital life. This includes:

Financial Information: Credit cards, bank account details, routing numbers.

Identities: Driver's licenses, passports, social security numbers.

Developer Secrets: API keys, SSH keys, configuration files, and server access credentials.

Secure Notes: Private journal entries, combinations for physical safes, recovery phrases for crypto wallets.

TOTP (Time-based One-Time Passwords): LockYit has built-in 2FA capabilities, meaning it acts as an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator) right alongside your credentials.

2. Simple Categorization and Organization

Standard password managers typically offer foldering or tagging to keep your hundreds of web logins organized.

We wanted to bring simplicity to the process of categorizing your data, and accessing it. LockYit allows you to categorize items by assigning them to one of 43 in-built Item Types. A credit card entry will hide the important card number and CVV, while a secure note just provides a massive, encrypted text area.

This structure ensures your data isn't just secure - it's also organized and instantly accessible when you need it.

You just need to type in a few characters of the item you are looking for in the search field, and LockYit will show you all the items that match your query.

You can also use the filter options to narrow down your search results by an Item Type. Sorting using item name, and date modified is also possible.

3. The Offline-First Security Paradigm

Most mainstream password managers are deeply tied to cloud syncing. While convenient, this architectural choice dictates their threat model.

Secure information managers, particularly LockYit, often cater to a higher security tier by adopting an offline-first paradigm. Because a digital vault holds data far more critical than a stray forum password - like your passport scan or your life savings' recovery phrase - minimizing the attack surface is crucial.

By keeping the vault local, LockYit removes the risk of massive, centralized cloud breaches. You manage your backups manually, encrypting them locally and storing them wherever you feel is safest - be it a USB drive, a local NAS, or a trusted end-to-end encrypted cloud drive.

4. Why You Need Both (or One That Does It All)

We believe that your security tools should adapt to your life, not the other way around. You shouldn't need one app for passwords, another for your 2FA codes, and a third for storing encrypted photos of your ID cards.

LockYit bridges this gap. It provides the effortless credential management you expect from a password manager, bolstered by the deep, offline-first security of a comprehensive digital vault.

If you're ready to upgrade from simply managing passwords to securing your entire digital footprint, it's time to try a true Secure Information Manager.

You hear the term "Zero-Knowledge Encryption" thrown around constantly in the cybersecurity space. Many apps, cloud storage providers, and secure information managers use it as a major selling point. But what does it actually mean in practice, and why should you care?

Simply put, zero-knowledge architecture ensures that the service provider holding your data has absolutely no way to read it. They have "zero knowledge" of your actual files, passwords, or notes. Here's a deeper look into the mechanics behind it.

The Traditional Model vs. Zero-Knowledge

In traditional cloud services, data is often encrypted "in transit" (when traveling between your device and the server) and "at rest" (when stored on the server's hard drives). However, the service provider usually holds the encryption keys. This means:

They can decrypt your data if requested by law enforcement.

If a rogue employee gains access, your data is exposed.

If the provider suffers a major breach and the key management system is compromised, attackers can decrypt everything.

Zero-Knowledge Encryption completely changes this dynamic. In a genuine zero-knowledge system:

Your data is encrypted on your device before it ever leaves.

The encryption key is derived from a master password or passphrase that only you know.

The provider never receives, stores, or transmits your unhashed master password or the encryption keys.

Because the provider doesn't have the key, they physically and mathematically cannot read your data. If they are hacked, the attackers only get heavily encrypted ciphertext that is practically impossible to crack.

How LockYit Embraces the Zero-Knowledge Principle

While LockYit is an entirely local, offline app, it adheres strictly to the principles of zero-knowledge architecture.

With LockYit:

Your Master Password never leaves your device and is never saved to the file system or transmitted anywhere.

All cryptographic operations-hashing your password to derive the encryption key, and using that key to encrypt your vault-happen entirely within your device's memory.

The resulting encrypted database file is completely secure. Even if someone physically steals your device and extracts the database file, they have "zero knowledge" of its contents without your Master Password.

The Trade-off: You Are Your Own IT Department

There is a significant caveat to true zero-knowledge encryption: There is no "Forget Password" button.

Because the service provider doesn't know your password and doesn't hold your key, they cannot reset it for you. If you lose your Master Password or your recovery keys, your data is permanently inaccessible. The math makes no exceptions.

While this might seem daunting, it is the ultimate proof that the system works. It empowers you with absolute ownership and control over your digital life.

When choosing tools to protect your most sensitive data, look beyond standard encryption claims. Prioritize solutions like LockYit that put the keys squarely in your hands.

In a world increasingly reliant on cloud services, data breaches and privacy concerns have become unfortunately commonplace. When we looked for a secure, offline information manager and digital vault that truly respected user privacy, we couldn't find one that met our exact needs. Most solutions heavily depended on the cloud, syncing sensitive data to external servers, or lacked the essential features for holistic data management beyond just passwords.

We wanted a solution where you, and only you, have absolute control over your data. That's why we built LockYit.

The Problem with Cloud-First Managers

Cloud-based information managers and password vaults offer unparalleled convenience. Being able to access your credentials from any device effortlessly is a huge draw. However, this convenience comes with inherent risks:

Single Point of Failure: When you store all your digital secrets on a centralized cloud server, it becomes a high-value target for malicious actors. Even top-tier providers are not immune to sophisticated attacks or breaches.

Privacy Concerns: Even with encryption, metadata (like how often you log in, or which services you use) might still be visible or accessible to the provider.

Dependence on Internet Connectivity: Without an active internet connection, you risk being locked out of your most crucial information.

The LockYit Philosophy

At TechOrion AI, we fundamentally believe that your personal data - your passwords, private notes, 2FA codes, and sensitive identities - should reside on the device you trust, entirely under your stewardship.

Here is what defines the LockYit philosophy:

1. 100% Local Storage, Zero Cloud Reliance

Your vault is never uploaded to any remote server by default. Your data is encrypted locally and stays exactly where it belongs: on your device. This offline-first approach drastically mitigates the risks associated with cloud breaches.

2. State-of-the-Art Encryption

We don't cut corners on security. LockYit employs standard, proven cryptographic algorithms, like AES-256 for symmetric encryption. Your data is encrypted before it's saved, ensuring that anyone without your Master Password only sees scrambled, unintelligible data.

3. More Than Just Passwords

Your digital life isn't just about usernames and passwords. It's about secure notes, credit card details, SSH keys, Identity documents, and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) seeds. LockYit is designed as a comprehensive digital vault capable of safeguarding all forms of sensitive information.

4. Seamless, Optional Syncing

While we champion offline security, we don't ignore convenience. LockYit gives you the choice of how to back up, or sync your encrypted vault in your own home or office network, without forcing you into a proprietary cloud service. This convenience will come with a small price to pay for in the near future.

5. Free or Pay

LockYit is available for free to use on as many devices you want, with no ads, no invasive tracking, and no hidden fees. It will remain free to use always. You will need to pay only if you want cross device sync, or if you want to optionally backup your vault in our encrypted cloud storage service, or if you want to share items with other LockYit users over your local network.

The Future of Digital Privacy

We built LockYit because we wanted a tool we could trust with our most sensitive data. We view privacy not as a luxury, but as a fundamental right.

Our journey has just begun. We're continuously looking to improve the app, add features like multi-platform support, and refine the user experience - always while strictly adhering to our offline-first and privacy-focused core tenets.

Try LockYit today, and take back control of your digital life.
